Indianapolis Fire Department

The Indianapolis Fire Department has been protecting the citizens of Indianapolis and portions of Marion County since 1859. The department now includes 44 Fire Stations serving 278 Square Miles. Their fleet includes 88 front line apparatus including 43 Engines, 22 Ladders, 6 Squads, 4 Tankers, 7 Battalion Chief's Cars, 4 TSU (Tactical Support Units), 3 Safety Officers, 2 EDO's (EMS Duty Officer), 1 Shift Commander and 4 Rehab Units.
