Base 90

Huntertown is located just 12 miles northwest of Fort Wayne along IN-3 in Allen County. First established in 1940, this combination department provides Fire, Tactical Rescue and BLS protection to approximately 22,000 residents across nearly 46 square miles for Huntertown and surrounding Perry Township.

Base 90 - Huntertown Fire Station - 15412 Lima Road
This firehouse is home to a 2 person crew 24/7, and a third Firefighter M-F from 6pm-10pm. This station was built in 1977, while the right side addition was completed in 1997. The department currently includes 10 paid members and 35 volunteers,

Rescue Engine 91 - 2017 Pierce Enforcer PUC (#31132) - 1500gpm/1000gal
RE91 is equipped with battery Holmatro extrication tools in the front bumper and side compartment, a light tower and a 6kw generator. This apparatus replaced both Engine 91 and Rescue 98 for the department. It responds first due for all structure fires and vehicle accidents at Huntertown.

Engine 92 is first-due for all structure fires and second-due for medical assist and rescue calls.

Tanker 93 - 2000 International/S&S - 1250gpm/3500gal
While it runs primarily as a tanker, Tanker 93 can also serve as a second pumper at rural fire scenes.

This apparatus was purchased from nearby St Joseph Township in 2014.

This apparatus served as the primary ambulance from 2008-2014 when it was replaced by a newer Ford/Braun. It now responds second-due on larger incidents or as a reserve unit.

After 14 years of frontline service, Engine 91 now serves as a reserve Engine. This apparatus was for sale in 2019.
