HR

City of Lawrence Fire Station 36 - 7620 North Oaklandon Road - Eastern Geist Area
This unique firehouse is the only one in Marion County shared by two departments. Station 36 is home to IFD Ladder 36 as well as the City of Lawrence's Engine 36 and Medic 36. This station was built in 1992 by the City of Lawrence and was originally manned by both City of Lawrence Fire and Lawrence Township Fire Department personnel. For years this station was leased to and manned by Lawrence Township as Station 334. All of its apparatus were renumbered from 334 to 34 on January 12, 2010 as part of a county-wide renumbering. In the fall of 2010 the firehouse was transferred back to the City of Lawrence and reassigned as Station 36.

As part of a restructuring of personnel and apparatus, Ladder 21 was disbanded in mid-2012 and this apparatus was reassigned as Ladder 36.
