Elkhart County Fire Departments Elkhart County was formed in 1830. It is located in far northern Indiana immediately east of South Bend and bordering the state of Michigan. The city of Goshen serves as the county seat where 17 departments protect the 820 square miles and 180,000 residents of Elkhart County. |
