Fort Wayne is Indiana's second largest city and is located 130 miles northeast of Indianapolis along I-69 in Allen County. Fort Wayne Fire provides Fire, Tactical Rescue, Hazardous Materials and BLS response from 18 firehouses throughout the city. The department's 350+ career firefighters protect 251,000 residents and 107 square miles.

Station 15 is located out Lima Road on the city's far east side. Along with Station 18, this building also serves as a
Fort Wayne Police Department Substation.

In 2000 the city replaced several of their International/Luverne Commercial Engines with Custom Pierce Apparatus.
These pumpers originally went to Engines 2, 6, 11, 14 and 15.

With the arrival of these new engines, 2001 marked the change to renaming Fort Wayne pumpers as "Engines" instead of "Pumps."

When Truck 19 was placed into service, many of Fort Wayne's 5 ladder trucks were reassigned to new stations. Ladder 16
was reassigned as Truck 15. This big rig now serves the northwest side of the city. Truck 19 serves the southwest side in Aboite
Township. Truck 12 continues to protect the southside, while Trucks 1 and 14 serve downtown and northeast Fort Wayne.

Station 16 is currently home to Engine 16, Brush 16 and old (reserve) engine 9. It protects the growing far northwestern
portion of the city limits including portions of Washington and Perry Townships.
