Fort Wayne Fire provides Fire, Tactical Rescue, Hazardous Materials and BLS response from 18 firehouses throughout the city. The department's 350+ career firefighters protect 251,000 residents and 107 square miles.

Station 18 opened in January 2006 in the rapidly growing Aboite Township Area. It is home to Engine 18
and the department's Hazardous Materials Decontamination tractor-trailer. It also serves as an FWPD substation.
