Fire & EMS - Base 130

The small town of Hoagland is located 10 miles southeast of Fort Wayne in the southeast corner of Allen County. First established in 1930, the fire department merged with Hoagland EMS in 2008. This all-volunteer department now includes 30 members who provide Fire, Rescue and BLS protection to approximately 2,500 residents in Allen County and 500 residents in Adams County. Their response area includes 51 square miles of primary coverage and 102 square miles additional dual-response structural fire coverage.

This firehouse was originally built in 1963 and remodeled in 2006. It is home to all 5 frontline apparatus.

Engine 131 is first-due engine for structure fire and mutual aid calls. It is second-due for extrication runs.

Hoagland provides BLS response and transport with this rig while Paramedic service is provided by TRAA in Fort Wayne.

Grass Rig 139 - 2001 Ford F350/Stahl/CET - 700gpm/300gal
This apparatus is first-due for all off-road incidents and responds as the primary medical assist truck. Grass Rig 139 can be used to fill tankers at remote pond fill sites.  It is equipped as a BLS non-transport truck. With the help of a DNR Grant, this truck was fitted with a sidewinder bumper nozzle in 2009.

This firehouse is located at the entrance to Veteran's Park alongside the railroad tracks that split the Town.
