BASE 40 - North Station

New Haven is located immediately east of Fort Wayne inside of I-469 in Allen County. This combination department was formed in 1994 with the merger of two departments to create a unified firefighting force for greater efficiency and manpower. NHATFD now provides Fire, Tactical Rescue, Hazmat and ALS protection to 23,000 residents of the Town of New Haven and Adams Township.

New Haven-Adams Township Fire Department North Fire Station - Base 40 - 910 Main Street (Downtown)
Base 40 protects the district's northern area including downtown New Haven.While not located far from the
central station, railroad tracks split the district into two sections requiring apparatus for response north of the tracks.

Engine 42 - 2002 Pierce Saber Custom Pumper - 1500gpm/750gal/20gal foam
Engine 42 is first due for all fire runs and second due for EMS and Rescue calls from the north station.

Tanker 44 - 1999 International/S&S - 500gpm/3500gal
Shown here in front of the Central Station, Tanker 44 responds from Base 40. It has an identical twin at Tanker 124.

Rescue 48 -1996 Ford F-350/Med-Tec
This rig formerly served as an Ambulance at Woodburn FD before coming to NHAT as a second Rescue Squad.

Grass 49 - 1987 Chevy Scottsdale - 200gpm/300gal skid unit
Grass 49 responds to grass and brush fires throughout NHATFD's district from its home at Base 40.

New Haven-Adams Township Engine 1 - 1929 Studebaker
This rig was the first motorized fire truck to protect New Haven. It has been painstakingly restored by members of the deparment and the New Haven/Adams Township community.
