Indiana Fire Trucks: Southwest Allen County Fire District

	Southwest Allen County Fire District - Base 150 SWACFD protects the southwest corner of Allen County immediately south of Fort Wayne. This combination department was formed in 1986 and responds from 3 stations. SWACFD provides Fire, Tactical Rescue and BLS protection to 80 square miles and approximately 25,000 residents within the district.


Base 150 - 5430 South Bend Drive - Fort Wayne Base 150 serves the northern portion of SWACFD's district. It is home to Engine 151, Tanker 153 and Emergency 155.


Engine 151 - 2007 Spartan/Crimson Rescue Pumper - 2000gpm/1000gal E-151 entered service with the department in March 2008. It responds first-due for all fire, rescue and medical assist incidents from Base 150. It is usually the first-out apparatus with the on-duty crew while additional volunteer personnel respond with other appropriate vehicles.


Engine 151 - 2007 Spartan/Crimson Rescue Pumper - 2000gpm/1000gal E-151 and it's twin E-252 went through extensive planning and changes before and during their construction. The department's goal was to provide an apparatus that was durable enough to last 15 years while balancing both firefighting and rescue needs. This rigs' many unique features include cab-mounted scene lights that can be raised, angled and rotated by the officer upon arriving at nightime incidents. The truck's rescue body includes a roll-up hose bed cover that is sturdy enough to allow 2 FF's access to four "coffin" storage compartments in from the roof.


Former Engine 151 - 1991 Pierce Dash Pumper - 1500gpm/1000gal Engine 151 was sold by the department in early 2008.


Engine 151 - 1991 Pierce Dash Pumper - 1500gpm/1000gal In late Spring 2007, this rig will move be sold and replaced by one of two 2007 Spartan/Crimson Fire 2000gpm/1000gal Custom Pumpers. The other will go to Engine 251, which will move to reserve status.


Tanker 153 - 1997 International 4900/Stainless - 500gpm/2600gal Tanker 153 provides necessary water to the rural areas on the southside of the district including portions of I-469.


Emergency 155 - 1998 International/MedTec - ALS Ambulance Emergency 155 is the first due for EMS calls for Base 150 and portions of Base 50's district.


Squad 156 - "The Short Bus" - 2005 Chevy Van Shown here at Base 50, Squad 156 will be used for manpower transport and medical assist calls out of Base 150.
