Southwest Allen County Fire District Base 50

SWACFD protects the southwest corner of Allen County immediately south of Fort Wayne. This combination department was formed in 1986 and responds from 3 stations. SWACFD provides Fire, Tactical Rescue and BLS protection to 80 square miles and approximately 25,000 residents within the district.

Base 50 - Southwest Allen County Station 1 - 7001 Old Trail Road (Waynedale Area)
Base 50 serves as SWACFD tactical headquarters and is home to Boat 50, Truck 57, Heavy Rescue 58, Grass 59 and a
reserve ambulance.

Truck 57 - 1998 Pierce Quantum 100' Rear-mount Ladder - 2000gpm/300gal
Truck 57 serves as the department's ladder truck. It responds to fires and appropriate incidents throughout Southwest's
district. It is centrally located at Station 1 in the Wayneville Area south of Fort Wayne.

Rescue 58 - 2001 Pierce Quantum/1992 Mobile Medical walk-in Heavy Rescue
The rescue box on this rig was reused from the previous Rescue 58. The forward roll-up doors were added and everything
was rebuilt onto the new Quantum Chassis.

Brush 59 - 1995 AM Hummer - 250gpm/200gal
59 is the first-due apparatus for brush, grass and field fires within the district.

With it's offroad capabilities, Brush 59 is used to pull the department's boat for top water and dive rescue incidents.
