The city of Woodburn and Maumee Township are located 10 miles east of Fort Wayne along IN-24 in Allen County. This all-volunteer department was formed in 1903 and now includes 32 dedicated members. WVFD provides Fire, Rescue, Hazmat and BLS transport protection to more than 100 square miles and approximately 2,500 residents within the district.

Woodburn - Maumee Township Fire Station
Located on the east side of downtown, Woodburn's fire station is attached to the munipical building. It is home to 6 frontline
apparatus. The Grass Rig, boat and a insultion vacuum trailer are located in a separate building behind this one.

Engine 162 - 2006 Pierce Contender Pumper - 1250gpm/1000gal
Engine 162 is first out for most incidents at WVFD including fire, rescue and extrication calls.

Engine 161 - 1991 International 4900/Luverne - 1250gpm/750gal
Engine 161 is considered the "Town" engine and is second out for fires within the city limits.

Tanker 163 - 1974 International/2000 Starr Stainless - 1500gpm/3300gal
This apparatus started it's career as a ladder truck for nearby New Haven. It was sold "as is" to Woodburn who in turn sold
off the aerial portion to a local sign company. The truck was then converted over to a pumper/tanker and has faithfully served
the department ever since.

Tanker 163 - 1974 International/2000 Starr Stainless - 1500gpm/3300gal
A new, similarly configured tanker to run along side this one is in the plans for WVFD in the near future.

Emergency 165 - 2000 Ford E-450/Braun - BLS Ambulance
Emergency 165 provides BLS Transport service with 2 FF/EMT's.

Rescue 168 - 1993 International/Custom - Medium walk-around rescue & Light Truck
Rescue 168 carries a second set of jaws, extra cribbing, hazmat and medical equipment. It seats 5 and provides great scene
lighting for nightime incidents.
