The small town of Advance is located 35 miles northwest of
Indianapolis along IN-75 in western Boone County. Established in 1952, this all-volunteer department includes 30 members who respond to 175 runs each year from two stations. AVFD provides Fire, Rescue and BLS non-transport protection to a 72 square miles including al of Jefferson Township and 1/3 and 1/2 of Jackson Township.
Fire Station 51 - 106 E Wall Street - Advance
Built in the early 1970's, Station 1 is home to Engine, Tanker, Brush and Rescue 51. This firehouse served as the
department's only station for nearly 50 years. Plans are in the works for a new Station 1 to be built nearby in the near future.

Prior to it's purchase in 2005, this truck previously served as TSU 333 at Lawrence Township FD on the northeast side of Indianapolis.

Station 2 - IN-32 - Northside
Located along IN-32 beside Western Boone High School, this firehouse serves as home to Engine 42, Rescue 42 and the department's equipment trailer. This became Advance's second station in 2006.
Rescue 52 - 1996 GMC K3500/McGinley Mini-Pumper - 300gpm/250gal
This small but might truck carries a set of TnT Extrication tools and responds to accidents and medical calls on the town's northside.
