Young America
Volunteer Fire Department

The Town of Young America is located 61 miles north of Indianapolis near the crossroads of IN-29 and IN-18 in the southwest corner Cass County. This all-volunteer department was organized in 1934. YAVFD provides, Fire, Rescue and Medical First-Responder protection to the Town of Young America and the surrounding rural township.

This firehouse is very unique as it occupies a portion of what was the Town's Christian Chapel originally built in 1894. A new
section was added on in 2005 to accomodate all four YAVFD frontline apparatus.
