Montgomery Fire Department The Town of Montgomery is located 100 miles southwest of Indianapolis along US-50 in central Daviess County. The 13 members of this all-volunteer department provide Fire, Rescue and first-responder EMS protection to the town of Montgomery and Barr Twp. Their rural coverage area includes 82 square miles with a population of 4,500. MVFD responds automatic mutual aid with Cannelburg VFD located just east of them along US-50 in Barr Twp. |

Montgomery Town Office and Community Building
Montgomery FD was formerly established in 1926. Since then, three generations of the same family have served as the department's Fire Chief. MVFD responds from their single station with the three apparatus pictured here.

Engine 6 - 2001 Freightliner FL-80/E-One Pumper - 1250gpm/1000gal
E-6 was purchased as a demo in 2003. It responds first due for all fire and extrication/rescue responses. It carries the “JAWS” and TIC. E6 is second out for all grass/brush fires and responds to all medical assist calls.

Engine 61 - 1966 Ford Pumper - 750gpm/500gallon
E-61 is 2nd due for fire calls. E61 carries the K-12 and chainsaw. E-61 was the first new fire truck purchased by Montgomery.

Brush 6 - 2005 Chevy 2500 4x4 with 250gpm/200gallon skid unit
Brush Truck 6 is first-out on all grass/brush fires and 2nd out on all extrication and rescue calls.
