Center Township
Emergency Services

Center Township's Fire District is a small donut-shaped band around the City of Muncie in Delaware County. Center Township Emergency Services operates from two stations that protect residential, rural, commercial, and industrial areas. Center Township is currently a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status protecting ten square miles of area 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

In 2000 the township trustees opted to create it's own fire department instead of continuing its service contract with Munice

Snorkel 13 responds from Center Townships southside station on all structure fires. Due to Center Township's
combination status, Snorkel 13 is sent north whenever Engine 12 responds to a fire run. This provides the fastest on-scene
response of a ladder and engine company.
