The Town
of Cowan is located 10 miles south of Muncie along IN-3 in southern
Delaware County. This all volunteer department provides Fire and
Rescue protection to approximately 1,800 residents and 8 square
miles in Monroe Township and Cowan.

Fire Station houses all 6 of their apparatus at their single station
on IN-3.

Engine-71 is the first due for Fire & Rescue calls in downtown Lawrenceburg.
Engine 72 - 1982 Ford/E-One
Custom Pumper - 1000gpm/700gal
Engine-72 is the second due Engine Company on structure fires.
Tanker 73 - 1999 Freightliner/S&S
- 400gpm/2500gal
Tanker 73 is the first due Tanker for rural fire scenes. It also responds to
mutual aid calls for neighboring departments.

Brush
75 "Red Pepper" -
Brush 75 serves as the deparment's grass rigs for their substantial area of rural
farmland and fields.
Rescue 76 - 2004 Ford
F450/Reading Light Rescue
Rescue 76 is the first due for medical calls and extrications. ALS/BLS Transport
is provided throughout the
county by Delaware County EMS.
