The City of Elkhart is located 20 miles east of South Bend along the I-80 toll road in northern Elkhart County. Elkhart's 7 stations provide Fire, Tactical Rescue and ALS protection to 51,800 residents.

Station 7 has it's own first due area on the northwest side and also protects the Elkhart Municipal Airport. It is home to Engine 7,
Crash Fire Rescue 22 and Hazmat truck and trailer.

This great Mack previously served as Engine 7 and then as a reserve out of Station 2. It was reassigned as Engine 10 in 2006.
