Elkhart Township Fire Department

Elkhart Township surrounds the city of Goshen in southern Elkhart County. This combination department was first organized in 1947. Elkhart Township's 3 stations provide Fire and Rescue protection to the Township's residents. ALS service is provided by
Goshen Fire Department.

Located in the Waterford Mills section on Goshen's southside, Elkhart Township's current station was built in 1960.
Once full-time firefighter is stationed here 24/7 and is supplemented by 32 volunteers.

Elkhart Township Fire Department Station 2 - South 22nd & Dykstra St just off IN-4
Station 2 was originally built in 1964 with an addition in 2000. It protects Goshen's northeast side and is home to Engine 21,
Ladder 21 and Tanker 21.

.The oldest engine in the fleet, Engine 31 is scheduled to be replaced by a custom cab engine in 2008.

 

Not yet pictured: Elkhart Township Fire Department Station 3 - Sout Greene Road & West Lincoln Avenue
Elkhart Township's third station was built in 1992 and protects the west side of Goshen.
This unmanned station is home to Engine 31.
