Connersville Fire Department

Connersville is located 78 miles East of Indianapolis at the crossroads of IN 44 and IN-1 in Fayette County. This full time department provides Fire, Rescue, Hazmat and BLS protection to the City while ALS ambulances are run by Fayette County and Fayette Memorial Hospital. Connersville protects 17,000+ residents and over 40 square miles from it's three stations.

Ladder 1 is now the department's primary aerial device and replaced the former Snorkel 3 seen at the bottom of
this page. However, due to it's large size, Ladder 1 is simply too long to be kept at Station 1 downtown.

CFD's latest addition was purchased with one of the largest FEMA grants ever given for a specific apparatus. Custom-built
by Pierce for this station's limited height, Ladder 1 cost the town only $28,000 for this nearly $750,000 truck. Thank you FEMA!

Former Snorkel 3 - 1979 Pierce/Hendrickson 85' Snorkel - 1000gpm/300gal
This apparatus was originally ordered by the Kansas City Fire Department. However, it had to be returned when
it would not fit into the short station in KC. Connersville then purchased this unit and it continues to ran it as their
front line ladder company until 2006.
