Former Station

Everton Fire Station in 1972
The Everton Lion's Club was formed in 1956. Their first order of business was to establish a fire department to protect their citizens. In 1957 the department was created with many Lion's Club members as the original firefighters. Their first "station" was a barn located on the west side of Town. As shown in this picture, their second station was located along IN-1 and was home to three apparatus: a 1962 GMC Pumper - 250gpm/1000gal, a 1969 Ford/Howe Pumper - 250gpm/750gal and a 1972 International Scout - HP/100gal that served as their first brush truck. This building now serves the Everton Water Department and is located immediately north of their current home pictured at the top of the page.

Special thanks to FF/EMT-P Joe Steinard and FF/Safety Officer Mark Steele for their assistance in arranging the
apparatus for these pictures. Thanks also to Chief Chad Gronning for providing EVFD background and history.
