Fountain County EMS

Fountain County is located 65 miles west of Indianapolis along I-74 and US-41 in west-central Indiana. The 30 members of this department respond to 2,000 runs each year from two bases. FCEMS provides ALS/BLS transport, extrication, rope rescue and top-water rescue throughout the entire county.

FCEMS Headquarters - IN-132 in Veedersburg
Fountain County EMS responds throughout the county from a central base in Veedersburg and a second base in Attica. This
building houses the department's administration offices along with 2 frontline ALS Ambulances, 2 reserve Ambulances and one
rescue truck. There are full-time crews at both bases 24/7 and a backup crew is called in whenever either frontline unit goes out.

Medic 23-R - 1990 Ford F700/Reading Medium walk-in Rescue
M-23R responds to all rescue and auto extrication calls throughout the county. This truck also carries equipment for Rope and
Top Water Rescue. When a call comes in, one person will respond in this rig and one in the frontline ambulance to assist local fire
crews whenever rescue personnel are needed.
