The City of Marion is located 85 miles northeast of Indianapolis along IN-37 and I-69 in Grant County. Established in 1876, MFD is a career department that responds from 5 fire stations. The brave members of MFD provide Fire, Tactical Water, Dive and Confined Space Rescue, Hazmat and BLS protection to 31,000+ residents within the city limits.

Station 1 protects the central downtown area of Marion. It is home to Pump 1, Ladder 1 and the Water Rescue Truck

Ladder 1 is the busiest apparatus in the city. In addition to it's own primary response area, Ladder 1 runs city-wide as the departments aerial device and for advanced auto extrications.

Due to the fact that they respond to most major incidents, the crew of Ladder 1 are referred to as "The Heroes" by the other stations. The angel logo on the side of the cab was designed by an Indiana Weslyan student, while the Marion Giants logo design
on the driver's rear compartment was designed by a Marion High School student.

Pump 1 was moved to the second-due apparatus from Station 1 with the arrival of Ladder 1. Since that time, whenever a second crew is available, Pump 1 responds to fire calls as needed.

Pump 1 carries a full set of extrication tools and includes a rare on-board cascade system in it's driver's side compartments.

Marion's dive and water rescue team responds with it's equipment and boats from station 1 downtown.

Station 2 responds as the Hazmat station in Marion. A majority of the personnel at Station 2 are Hazmat Techs with other
techs stationed around the city. The Engine crews jump over to Hazmat 1 whenever a call comes in city-wide.

Hazmat 1 responds throughout the city of Marion to Hazardous Materials calls. On confirmed incidents where decontamination is required, an equipment trailer with extra equipment (from Station 2, but not shown) is pulled by HM-1.
