Mill Township Fire/Rescue

Mill Township is located just south of Marion and west of Gas City along IN-15 and US-35 in central Grant County. Established in the 1950's the firefighters here are paid-on-call. MTFD provides Fire, Rescue and BLS protection to nearly 35 sq miles.

Station 50 is located just northeast of the intersection of US-35 and IN-15.

Engine 52 is the primary response unit to any fire besides a brush fire. Engine 52 also carries a
Holmatro spreader, cutter, and combination extrication tools and a set of airbags for auto extrications.

Tanker 53 responds to any fire, including brush and mutual aid. Tanker 53 also has a camera mounted on the
rear of the tank with a monitor mounted in the cab, which makes it easier backing into the station and to a port-a-tank.

While not used frequently, Tanker 54 is the second-due tanker to working fires in Mill Township and mutual aid calls.

Squad 51 is a certified non-transport BLS unit that is used for all ambulance assist calls and automobile accidents.
It can also be used to transport additional firefighters to larger incidents. The back of the truck contains a roll-out tray
with various medical and rescue gear. The rear compartment windows flip open to allow easy access to some of the
more common medical supplies and an AED.

Like a Christmas tree with a siren, this vehicle's substantial LED lighting package makes it highly visible during responses.
The lighting package includes the following Whelen lights: 12 Head Liberty Lightbar, 4 TIR'3 in the grill, 2 Linear Lightheads on the
front fenders, 2 TIR'6 on the mirrors, 2 600-series lightheads on each side of the topper, 2 700-series lightheads on the back of
the topper,  1 4-head dominator below the tailgate,1 6-Head strobe pack CSP-690 with 2 clear strobes in the headlights and
tailights and finally a Powercall Siren.
