The only "Swayzee" in the world, the Town of Swayzee is located west of Marion along IN-13 and IN-35 in western Grant County. Established in 1951, this all volunteer department includes 16 members and 6 apparatus. SVFD provides Fire and Rescue protection to the Town of Swayzee and Sims Township. They also provide Rescue services to portions of nearby Liberty and Franklin Townships.

Rescue 4, aka "The Squad" served briefly as an ambulance in Alabama. SVFD then purchased it and converted it into a
rescue and manpower vehicle. The roll-up compartment conceals a full set of extrication and various rescue tools. Inside the
converted box there are additional compartments as well as 5 additional seats with SCBA's for transporting firefighters to incidents.

Pump 1 previously served as the department's Engine Company. It is now the second-due pumper for structure fires and
the first due for car fires.

Pump 2 serves as the Grass and Lighting Truck for SVFD. It responds for scene lighting on night incidents and can roam
the farmland and other rural areas surrounding the town to fight brush and field fires.

This classic rig was purchased new more than 40 years ago! It has been well-maintained by the department and continues
to serve as the second-due tanker when needed.
