The Carmel Fire Department is a paid municipal department comprised of sworn/uniformed personnel 9 of whom are sworn/administrative staff members. In addition, the department has 8 full-time and 2 part-time civilian/administrative staff members. The Department serves a jurisdiction of more than 51 square miles and an estimated City/Township population of more than 64,000 |

| Carmel Fire Department Station 44 - East 131st Street - East Originally built in 1981, this firehouse can no longer effectively house all of the personnel needed to run this station. Much like Station 42 before it, it will be demolished in June 2006 with a new station being built on the same location with siginificantly more interior room. |
