The Fishers Community Volunteer Fire Department was founded in 1955. Fishers' career department now includes more than 100 full-time personnel that respond from 5 firehouses. FFD provides Fire, Tactical Rescue, Haz-Mat and ALS protection to nearly 65,000 residents in Fishers and Delaware and Fall Creek Townships.

Station 94 - 10701 Cumberland Road.
Completed in 2001, Station 94 is frequently the busiest station in Fishers due to its central location.

In late 2003 this truck (formerly stationed at 93 to pull the Rescue Task Force Trailer) was enhanced to serve double duty.
Grass 94 now serves a limited role as Grass truck and regularly pulls Fire/Rescue Boat 96 to Geist Reservoir.

Boat 96 provides a fast and stable platform for Fishers dive team. It responds to all water and ice rescue on nearby
Geist Reservoir. In the summer it stays docked on the lake full time. With its turret gun and 2000gpm pump,
it can provide lakeside fire suppression or serve as a continuous water supply for land-based Engine Companies.

When they were originally purchased, each of the Fishers Engines included bold graphics to promote safety. These
were removed and replaced with new logos and graphics in late Fall of 2007.

Each year several fire departments around Indianapolis host firefighting training sessions for firefighters from all around the
country attending FDIC (Fire Department Instructor's Conference.) Annual training classes includes vehicle extrication,
search & rescue, tactical rope & water rescues and confined space rescue. Fishers frequently serves as a host department.

The fire was started by a lightning strike which smouldered in the attic for several hours before waking neighbors in the
middle of the night. FFD responded to 4 structure fires thoughout that night caused by lightning on July 4 & 5, 2005.
