Sheridan
is located in northwest Hamilton County. It is a combination department
with 3 full time personnel on each
shift supplemented by volunteers. An additional Riverview Hospital Paramedic
is also stationed there with a QRV.
While the town's population is only 2,500, Sheridan provides
Fire, Rescue and ALS protection to more than 95 square miles! Sheridan
protects two townships: Adams Township. in Hamilton County and Marion
Township in Boone County.
Sheridan Fire Station 61
Located in Sheridan's business district, Sheridan's single fire station houses
a whopping 11 apparatus!

Sheridan Fire is extremely proud of their new engine delivered in December 2004.
It's unique gold and white claw-mark graphics are the first of it's kind on
this new style "Predator" pumper.
Engine 62 - 1992 KME Pumper - 1250gpm/1000gal
While still showing the markings as Engine 61, this engine has now been redesignated as Engine 62
and is the second-due engine to all fires.
Rescue 61 - 1999 Saulsbury/Freightliner FL70 walk-around
Heavy Rescue
Rescue 61 is first due to all accidents and extrication calls. It also carries
scene lighting, a cascade
system for
refilling tanks at fire scenes
and various other equipment for limited tactical rescues.
Tanker 61 - Ford C8000/McGinley 1000gpm/2500gal
Tanker 61 - serves as the frontline tanker for Sheridan.
Tanker 62 - 2002 Ford F750/McGinley 250gpm/1000gal
Tanker 62 has a unique and custom design. While designated a second-due tanker,
it also reponds to
field/grass fires. The entire top of the tank is covered in diamond plate. It
serves as a platform for fighting field
fires with it's top-mounted 1 1/2in hose reel.
Squad 61 - 1986 Ford F-350 Mini-Pumper
Squad 61 is commonly sent out with volunteers when additional manpower or lighting
is needed on rescue and fire scenes.
