Fire Department
Green Township is located 25 miles east of Indianapolis along I-70 in western Hancock County. Established in 1981, GTVFD
provides Fire, Rescue, and BLS protection to 2,500 residents and 30 square miles from their single station. This all-volunteer department currently has 25 members that protect a largely rural and farming district. |

Engine 151 - 1999 Freightliner FL-80/Central States Rescue Pumper - 1250gpm Waterous pump/1000gal
Rescue 15 is the first out truck for all EMS and MVA calls. It is third out for fires. This truck has a 5-man cab and a
10kw generator. It carries EMS, Extrication, Hazmat equip and enough fire equipment to make it a class 1 engine. |

Engine 152 - 2004 Freightliner FL-80/Central States Pumper - 1500gpm Waterous pump/1000gal
E-15 is the first out truck on fires and any mutual aid calls requiring an engine. It has a 10kw PTO generator and carries
some EMS equipment, a back up set of extrication tools, 600ft of 5" hose and various firefighting equipment. |

Tanker 155 is 2nd out on all fires. This truck features a 10” dump on the back along with 8” side dumps. All dumps are
air-operated and can be controlled from the cab. |

Grass 157 - 1968 Dodge 3/4 ton Power Wagon brush truck with - 250gpm/300gal Danko skid unit
Grass 15 is the first out on truck for Grass and Field Fires. It has front bumper sweeps and 2 short lines on the back.
It also has 200’ of 1” forestry hose carried in a hose tray. |

In 1981, the department was started with a 1957 Chevy Pumper which responded out of a department member's barn.
Decades later the department has come a long way with four apparatus now calling. Station 15 home. |
