Station 142

The Town of Avon is located just 5 miles west of Indianapolis in eastern Hendricks County along US-36. Established in 1964, AFR includes 60 full-time personnel who provide Fire, Rescue, Hazmat and ALS protection to nearly 12,000 residents. The department is governed, financed and run by Washington Township and not the town of Avon. Washington Township has been a full-time department since 1989 and is one of three career departments in the county.

Station 2 was completed in 1998 on the east side of the town. It is currently home to Engine 142 and Ambulance 142.

Reserve Engine 142
Former Engine 142 - 1999 KME Excel Pumper - 1500gpm/750gal
This apparatus served for a while as a reserve pumper after being replaced in 2002. However, it was then sold by the department.
