Plainfield Fire Department
Station 121

Located just west of Indianapolis in southern Hendricks County, Plainfield has grown dramatically over the past 15 years. Plainfield's
two stations protect 30,000 residents and more than 40 square miles. including portions of I-70, US-40, and IN-267. A third and fourth station for the east and south east sides of town are currently in the early planning stages.

Tower 121 was renamed in Fall of 2006 in preparation for the new county wide dispatch system.

Engine 121 is the first due for fires and medical assist calls from Station 121 at 4004 Clarks Creek Road (just off IN-267).
Engine 121 has an identical 2006 twin at E-122.

Rescue 121 responds to all extrication calls and also includes equipment for top water, high/low angle, Hazardous Materials
and confined space tactical rescues.Its features include: 8-person, 7-SCBA Seat 1/2 Walk-in cab,
1000W Light Tower, 6 Kwik-Razed flood lights.

Support 121 is used to pull the departments boats or Gator ATV depending on the incident.

Plainfield runs three identical full-time ALS Ambulances with a forth in reserve.
Plainfield's Medics are routinely called for ALS to neighboring volunteer departments.

Each of the three Battalion Chiefs utilize their own issued vehicle (12-1, 12-2, 12-3) and carry a similar compliment of equipment.
The Battalion Chief functions as the shift supervisor for the day and responds as the incident commander on multi-apparatus calls.

This rig previously served as Engine 121 before being replaced with a 2006 model and moved to temporary reserve status.
It will likely return to first-due service with the opening of PFD's next station.

Car 8 is a Former Battalion vehicle it is used as a backup for Support 121. It is used as a multi-purpose vehicle for towing
the boats or Gator ATV, snow plowing, prevention and investigation duties depending on the incident.
