"Let's Roll"

The City of New Castle is located 55 miles east of Indianapolis in central Henry County. This full-time department provides Fire and Rescue protection to over 36 square miles and more than 18,000 residents from it's three stations. ALS service is provided by New Castle/Henry County EMS, which includes fire department personnel and respond from Stations 1 and 2. New Castle is best known as home to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame.

Station 1
Station 1 - 229 North Main Street
NFD Headquarters is located in downtown New Castle alongside the Municipal Building. This firehouse is home to
Ladder 1, Engine 2, Medic 3 and Rescues 5 & 6.

Ladder 1 is the city's tallest ladder and responds to all structure fires.

This truck was a former Ferrara Demo unit. It may be traded in the future for a Pumper/Tanker with greater water capacity.

Medic 3 - 2002 Ford E-450/Lifestar
Medic 3 is one of two full-time ALS Ambulances that respond to the greater New Castle Area. Medic 3 is staffed by 1 FF/EMT
and 1 Paramedic. The other Medic Unit is staffed by two Paramedics and responds from Station 2 on the city's east side.

Rescue 5 serves as the department's Grass Rig. It can also transport supplemental volunteer firefighters when additional
support is needed on larger incidents.

This truck was replaced by a new Ford F-450 chassis custom light rescue in September of 2007. The new truck includes an on-board cascade system as well as room for most of the department's rescue equipment.

Engine 3 responds from it's home on South Main street near Baker Park and New Castle High School.

Each of New Castle's apparatus are staffed by two fire personnel.

Engine 4 serves as the department's reserve apparatus for all of the frontline engines and the ladder. It is currently kept at Station 3.
