Volunteer Fire Department


The Town of Blountsville is located 63 miles east of Indianapolis along US-36 in northeastern Henry County. Organized in 1950, this all-volunteer department includes 26 members who respond to approximately 165 runs each year. SCTVFD provides Fire, Rescue and Medical First-Responder protection to the the Town of Blountsville, all of Stoney Creek Township and 1/2 of Perry Township in Delaware County.

Stoney Creek Township Fire Station - Depot and Main Streets - Blountsville
Built in 1950, this building has served as the department's one and only firehouse for nearly 60 years. It is home to all five
frontline apparatus. A new firehouse is scheduled to be built in 2010.

This engine previously served at nearby New Castle. It responds first-out for all incidents and carries medical equipment
and Hurst extrciation tools.

This apparatus previously protected the VA Medical Center in Brooke, Virginia. Upon arrival, Stoney Creek had to do did very
little to the rig. The logo on the door is actually Brooke's with just a small modification. Even the #52 was Brooke's original number.
Conveniently the number 52 and even the BVFD on the rear body also carried over to work for Blountsville. When the
department gets their new station in 2010-2011, this apparatus will be placed back into service as a tanker.
