Greentown is located 50
miles NNE of Indianapolis in eastern Howard County. Established in 1944, 40 volunteer members provide Fire, Rescue, and BLS protection to Greentown and surrounding rural areas including nearly 3,000 residents and 92 square miles!
Engine 12 - 1983 Ford C8000/FMC Pumper - 750gpm/500gal
A unique feature of early-80's FMC's was the optional addition of a crew cab compartment mounted behind the commercial cab as shown here.
Tanker 12 - 1977 Ford C800/1990's RPI Tanker - 250gpm/4000gallon tank
This former fuel truck was converted to a fire service tanker with a complete refurb by nearby RPI. While it carries a heavy
load on its relatively short frame, this rig continues to make fire runs in this largely rural area.
Brush 74 - 1973 International 200/1974 Boyer Grass Rig -200gpm/300 gallon tank
The Boyer logos on the front and back of this rig prove that it was a designated fire apparatus from the start. You won't find many rigs around anymore. A unique find in Indiana and in great working condition!
Ambulance 11 - 2000 Ford E-450/Wheeled Coach
A11 and A12 rotate monthly as first-due to provide BLS service throughout the Greentown community.
