Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Department

The town of Dunkirk is located 17 miles northeast of Muncie along IN-167 in the corner of Delaware, Blackford and Jay Counties. Since the days of horse-drawn apparatus, DVFD has kept one FF on duty 24/7 and the rest are volunteers. First formed in 1853, the department provides fire and rescue protection to nearly 2,700 residents from their single station.
