City of Madison Volunteer Fire Companies 4-6

The City of Madison can be found at the crossroads of US-421 and US-56 along the Ohio River in Jefferson County. Madison includes a unique setup of 6 independently contracted volunteer fire companies. For decades, each fire station and company has had it's own name and specifc color apparatus.
These companies serve as one to provide Fire & Rescue protection to more than 12,500 residents of this historic City.

Walnut Street FC #4 was first established on St. Patricks's Day, so it was only natural that green be their apparatus color.
#4 has always been the only Ladder apparatus in the city. The current rig's predecessor was a Seagrave Mid-mount Ladder.
This Seagrave is expected to be replaced in 2007 with a 100' platform ladder truck.
It will then move to Clifty 6 and run as Ladder 6.
