Madison Township
Volunteer Fire Company

The City of Madison can be found at the crossroads of US-421 and US-56 along the Ohio River in Jefferson County. Madison Township is located just north of the city in the Ringwald area. This all-volunteer department includes 40 members who provide Fire and First-Responder protection to their own district. They also provide Hazmat Response county-wide and serve as part of the Region 9 Hazmat Team.

Madison Township Fire Station - 3413 N. Michigan Road
This large firehouse is home to all 5 MTVFD apparatus and two trailers. It houses the department's adminstration offices,
training areas and a public meeting spaces. Three apparatus respond from these east-facing doors while the Haz-Mat
vehicles respond from south-facing side doors.

SQ-42 is first-out for all brush and field fires and medical first-responses. It is also used as a utility vehicle as needed.

TK-43 responds on most fire calls and can be used for mutual aid tanker runs as needed.

Task Force 44 - 2002 KME Excel Custom Heavy Rescue - Hazardous Materials Response
MTVFD provides county-wide response to all Hazardous Materials Incidents. Currently nearly half of the department are trained
Haz-Mat Technicians. MTVFD is also a primary part of Task Force 9, a multi-county regional Haz-Mat response agency.

This apparatus was provided by the Department of Homeland Security as part of a Regional Haz-Mat Task Force that
responds across 13-counties in southeastern Indiana.
