LaGrange
Volunteer Fire Department

The Town of LaGrange is located 50 miles east of South Bend along US-20 10 miles from the Michigan State Line. First established in 1880, this all-volunteer department includes 28 members who respond from a single central station. LVFD provides Fire, Rescue and Medical First-Responder protection to 48 square miles including the Town of LaGrange and all of Clay and Bloomfield Townships. LVFD responds to 200 runs each year. EMS service is provided county-wide by LaGrange County EMS.

LaGrange Fire Station 10 - State Road 9
Located just north of downtown LaGrange along IN-9, the fire and police departments share this building along with the Town
Assessor's offices. Dedicated in 2008, this new building provides the space needed for offices, training areas and 10 apparatus.

Rescue 10 - 1991 International/MedTec walk-through Medium Rescue
R-10 is the first walk-through Rescue Body built by Pierce's MedTec Ambulance Division. This rig is first-due for extrication
and rescue calls. It also carries scene lighting and the only on-board cascade system in the county to supply air and fire scenes throughout LaGrange County and even into Michigan. Rescue 10 is certified BLS non-transport.

L-14 serves as the department's aerial device. It is typically second-due to all structure fires behind Pump 11. This rig
formerly served at Decatur, IN. LaGrange, IN

This apparatus originally served the Town of Portland, IN before being acquired in the early 1990's by LVFD.
 
Squad 15 oa
Squad 15 - 2003 Ford F-550/S&S Mini-Pumper - 500gpm/400gal
Originally designed as a brush truck, this rig proved to be too heavy to effectively fight some of the field fires this department
sees. It currently serves as the first-due apparatus for medical calls and also carries various extrication tools to assist at
accident scenes with Rescue 10.

Grass 18
Grass 18 - 2003 Ford F-250 Brush Truck - 250gpm/300gal
In need of a lighter vehicle for grass fires, This truck was acquired by LVFD from their county highway department in early 2008.
