Crown Point Fire-Rescue The city of Crown Point & Center Township are located in central Lake County, 20 miles southeast of Chicago in Northwest Indiana. Crown Point serves as the county seat and was the first town in Indiana to have an electric traffic light. Responding from a single central station, Crown Point and Center Township apparatus combine to protect approximately 38 square miles. Started in 1873, Crown Point Fire-Rescue has a combination of 21 full-time Firefighter/Paramedics, 50 volunteers, and 6 Administrative Chiefs. CPFR provides protection to 32,000+ residents. Crown Point is the fastest growing city in Lake County and in the region. |

| Rescue 1532 - 1992 Chevrolet C3500/1993 Auto Truck/Reading Rescue 1532 is assigned to the Special Operations Division. This truck carries personnel and equipment and also hauls the one of the three Special Operations Trailers. However, Rescue 1532 originally served as a hose wagon to provide additional 5" supply hose to the engines for structure fires when the city and township's hydrants were further apart. |
