The Town of Dyer is located 24 miles southeast of Chicago along the Illinois border in Lake County. First organized in 1915, Dyer is an all-volunteer department with 30 members who respond to 1,100 runs each year. DVFD provides Fire, Rescue, and BLS protection to 18,000 residents and 17 square miles from it's two stations.

Completed in 2002, this large firehouse includes 6 drive-through bays. It serves as department
Headquarters and is home to 4 frontline apparatus.

Built in Decatur, Indiana, this rig serves as a back-up rescue and contains equipment for water/dive rescue.
It also includes an on-board cascade system for refilling air tanks at fire scenes.
