The Town of Dyer is located 24 miles southeast of Chicago along the Illinois border in Lake County. First organized in 1915, Dyer is an all-volunteer department with 30 members who respond to 1,100 runs each year. DVFD provides Fire, Rescue, and BLS protection to 18,000 residents and 17 square miles from it's two stations.
