The Town of Griffith is located 28 miles southeast of Chicago in Lake County. Griffith's Fire Territory comprises 12 square miles and includes a mix of residential, industrial and commercial buildings. First established in 1928, Griffith is a volunteer department with 45 paid-on-call firefighters and a full-time chief. Griffith responds to Fire, Rescue, and BLS calls from 3 fire stations and protects nearly 17,500 residents.

Station 2 was constructed by the Fire Department volunteers in 1959. An additional bay was added in 2000. This firehouse is
not far from downtown, but was required due to the city being split by railroad lines. The 2's is home to 8 proud members who
respond with Engine 212 and Truck 219 and Brush 205..

Engine 212 is the first due pumper for all incidents south of the Town's railroad tracks.
Engine 212 carries fire, rescue and extrication equipment.

Station 3 was built in 1976 with a full crew quarters. It was intended to be a combination station, but full-time staff were never
hired. Located alongside Ridge Road, the 3's is now home to Engine 216, Truck 217, Brush 206, Support 207 and a retired rig.

Truck 21 responds as a Ladder company from Station 3 on the town's northside.
It has a twin on the town's southside in Truck 219.

207 is used as an on-scene tactical support truck and includes a custom cascade and RIT equipment.
