Lowell Fire Department

Lowell is located 36 miles southeast of Chicago in south central Lake County along IN-2 and I-65. LVFD provides Fire and Rescue protection to the Town of Lowell, Cedar Creek Township and portions of Eagle Creek and Tri-Creek Townships. The department's 25 members protect nearly 12,000 residents and approximately 72 square miles. LVFD is a volunteer department, but also houses a full-time ALS crew for Tri-Creek EMS.

Engine 6611 is the first out for most fire calls at LFD and can seat up to 7 firefighters. It also carries a Thermal Imaging

As shown by it's lettering, this rig was originally purchased with funds from Cedar Creek Township. 6615 is the first due
apparatus for rural (township) fire calls. It is also first-due for extrication calls during the day when manpower may be
more limited. is available.

Rescue 1 (6631) - 1994 KME Excel 18' walk-in Heavy Rescue
6631 can seat up to 6 firefighters and responds to all tactical rescues and advanced extrications during the night shifts. During
the day, E-6615 usually takes accident and extrication calls first. 6631's large equipment list includes: Onan PTO Generator,
1000 Watt Light Tower, rope rescue equipment, Lukas Extrication Tools, an Airbag System, Gumby (Cold water) Rescue
Suits and a 4 Bottle Cascade System for refilling SCBA tanks on-scene.

TK-6641 is the first due tanker for rural fires. Along with a tremendous amount of water, it also carries a 3,000gal dump
tank. This rig was once owned by Cedar Creek Township and was painted chrome yellow by the chief at that time.
