All of the rigs at Munster use the Chicago FD color scheme of black-over-red with a green beacon light on the right side.
While there are many stories surrounding the use of the green light, the true origin is from a Chicago Fire Commissioner named
Albert Goodrich. He served from 1927-1931. His family owned the Goodrich steamship line. Back then, it was the largest
Transatlantic shipping concern in the US. He wanted to leave his signature on the Chicago Fire Department, and due to his
nautical upbringing, made it standard to have the green/red lights on Chicago Fire Department rigs to resemble the green/red
lights on boats to mark port/starboard. This also made it to Chicago Fire Department firehouses, the lights making it easy for
civilians to see the firehouse at night to report a fire back then.
