Volunteer Fire Department

The Town of Shelby is located 45 miles southeast of Chicago along IN-55 and the Monon Railroad in the southeast corner of Lake County. Organized in 1952, the 19 all-volunteer members of this department provide Fire, Rescue & Medical First-Responder protection to the residents of Shelby and Springfield Township.
