Station 1
Station 1 - W Warren & N 5th Streets - Northside
This single-engine house protects the north side of town and it's back bays serve the department of public works. MVFD includes 2 stations because the town was a major railroad crossroads. The former Milwaukee Road, then SOO line ran north-south and the former B&O, then CSX ran east-west. Mitchell used to see 30-40 trains a day years ago, but now the CSX line sees no through trains, just the local, and the CP only see a few trains a day.
