Volunteer Fire Deparment

The village of Williams is located 83 miles SSW of Indianapolis along IN-450 in western Lawrence County. Organized in 1960, this all-volunteer department includes 9 members who provide Fire and Medical First-Responder protection to the northern half of Spice Valley Twp in Lawrence County and all of Mitchelltree Township in Martin County.

This apparatus was first-due for all incidents prior to 2003 when the current Rescue 1 was purchased.
 
Williams VFD is scheduled for a new fire station in late 2009 and are working to acquire a 1972 Mack CF Pumper
from nearby Martin County Civil Defense.
