AFD
Station 1 - Fire Department Headquarters - 44 W. 5th Street (Downtown)
This huge station houses several appparatus which currently includes (left
to right):Battalion Chief, Medic 1, Engine 1,
Ladder 1, Reserve Engine, Grass 17, Reserve Ladder 8, Reserve Engine 4 (in
back Reserve Medic 2, tactical trailer).

Engine
1 - 1995 Pierce Saber Rescue Pumper - 1250gpm Waterous Pump/750gal
Engine 1 is the first due pumper for small fires, accidents and BLS calls in
the downtown area. This Engine crew is
cross-trained and will move to Ladder 1 when a structure fire occurs in their
district.

Ladder
1 - 2000 Pierce Dash 100' Rear-mount platform- 2000gpm Waterous Pumps/200gal
Ladder 1 responds as the primary ladder company for the northern half of Anderson.
A full time engineer is assigned to
this apparatus each shift. This way the apparatus can respond to structure fires
outside it's immediate district even if Engine 1
is out on a call. Inside it's own district the crew from the Engine company
will switch over to this apparatus and respond
with 4 personnel.

Ladder
1 - 2000 Pierce Dash 100' Rear-mount platform- 2000gpm Waterous Pumps/200gal
For a few years, Ladder 1 was actually designated
Engine 1 (shown here) and ran as a Quint. However, the
narrow streets of the downtown area made manuevering difficult for everyday
Engine responses. It was switched
to a Ladder company in late 2004

Station
2 - Westside - 2300 W. 22nd Street
Built in the late 1960's Station 2 is home to Engine 2 and Medic 3.

Engine
2 - 2000 Pierce Dash Mid-mount Pumper 1500gpm Waterous Pump/750gal
When Engine 3 was disbanded in early 2005, this apparatus was reassigned to
station 2. The 2's district runs west of
Madison Ave. from Community Hospital all the way to The Flagship near I-69.
It is a mix of residential, commercial and
industrial. Engine 2 has a twin at Engine 6.

ALS Medic 3 -2004
Ford E-450/Lifestar
Medic 3 currently shares quarters with Engine 2

Station 3 - Eastside - 2308 Columbus Avenue
Shown here with it's former occupant, Rescue 1, Station 3 is now home to Anderson
's Heavy Rescue and a crew of 2-4

Heavy Rescue - 2005 Spartan - Walk-around Heavy Rescue
Heavy Rescue serves it's own district for BLS calls much like a typical engine
company. However, it alsoresponds city-wide
for Tactical Rescues, Extrications, Major Medical Calls and all Fires.

Reserve Rescue 1 - 1995 GMC TopKick/American Fire & Rescue
- Partial walk-in Heavy Rescue
Rescue 1 was moved to reserve status after it was replaced by the 2005
Spartan-walk-around Heavy Rescue
above in February 2006.

Engine 3 - 2000 Pierce Dash Mid-mount Pumper 1500gpm
Engine Company 3 was disbanded in late 2004 and this appparatus was renumbered
Engine 2 (as seen above).

Reserve Medic 2 at St. John's Hospital ER
Medic 2 is housed at Station 1 when not in use as a reserve unit.
