Chesterfield-Union Township
Fire Department

Chesterfield is located 45 miles northeast of Indianapolis along I-69 and IN-32 in eastern Madison County. First established in 1926, this volunteer department now includes 36 members who respond to an average of 750 runs each year. CUTFD provides Fire, Rescue, BLS, Hazmat and Water Rescue protection to 10,000 residents and 19.5 square miles including Union Township and the Town of Chesterfield. The department's yellow apparatus come from a time in the mid-1970's when Madison County's departments were assigned different colors so they could easily be identified on mutual aid scenes.
