Elwood Fire Department

Elwood is located 40 miles northeast of Indianapolis along IN-37 in northwestern Madison County. Elwood is a combination department that responds from a central fire station in downtown Elwood. Elwood provides, BLS, Fire and Rescue protection to 9,700+ residents within the Town of Elwood.

Engine 7-1 serves as the primary reponse engine for all EMS calls and working fires in Elwood.

Engine 7-2 became the second response engine when it was replaced with a larger Spartan Engine in late 2004.

One of the few remaining "Quads" in the state, Engine 72 served as a multi-purpose Engine/Ladder truck with ground
ladders from 8'-35'. This rig also responds to brush fires due to it's easy-access 1-1/2 inch lines and running boards.
