Lapel Fire Department

The town of Lapel is located 27 miles northeast of Indianapolis along IN-32 in western Madison County. First organized in 1902, LVFD is comprised of 30 volunteer members that respond from a single station. LVFD provides Fire, Rescue and BLS protection to all of Stony Creek Twp, half of Green Twp to the south, and half of Jackson Twp to the north. This departmen responds to approxmately 400 runs each year in their largely rural district.

A-71 serves as the first-due Ambulance throughout Lapel's response area.

A-71 is the department's 2nd due ambulace. This rig originall served Pendleton EMS and then briefly at Anderson FD before being
acquired by Lapel

E-73 is first-due for accidents calls and second-due for fires. This apparatus will be replaced in mid-2008 by a new Freightliner/
Seagrave Custom Rescue Pumper.
 
Engine 74 ds
Engine 74 - 1994 Freightliner FL-80/KME Pumper - 1250gpm/1000gal
E-74 is first due for all fire calls at Lapel.
