Lapel Fire Department The town of Lapel is located 27 miles northeast of Indianapolis along IN-32 in western Madison County. First organized in 1902, LVFD is comprised of 30 volunteer members that respond from a single station. LVFD provides Fire, Rescue and BLS protection to all of Stony Creek Twp, half of Green Twp to the south, and half of Jackson Twp to the north. This departmen responds to approxmately 400 runs each year in their largely rural district. |

| Engine 73 - 1977 GMC/1978 Howe Rescue Pumper - 750gpm/750gal E-73 is first-due for accidents calls and second-due for fires. This apparatus will be replaced in mid-2008 by a new Freightliner/ Seagrave Custom Rescue Pumper. |
